Some memories of the convention with Gabriella Gubilaro

Dear Yogi,

It is with great pleasure that we look back on the National Convention with Gabriella Giubilaro.

We hope that this convention was as inspiring for all participants as it was for us. We would like to warmly thank everyone for their presence, commitment, and enthusiasm. It is a joy to see a warm and engaged Iyengar Yoga community continuing to grow in Belgium.

Strengthening this community is particularly important to us. Therefore, BIYAB remains committed to fostering connection, exchange, and deeper learning, including by inviting inspiring and experienced teachers to future conventions and other events.

Remaining a student is an essential part of Iyengar Yoga. The learning process never ends; there is always room to discover, deepen, and grow. We hope that this convention has provided new inspiration, insights, and motivation to continue your practice.

You can find the convention photos via the link below. The link will remain available for six months:

In addition, work on the Anuyoga project continues, and we would like to update you on its current progress.

The first year of the Anuyoga training programm is gradually coming to an end. We are pleased to announce that classes are currently being offered at Brugmann Hospital in Brussels. Three weekly classes are provided for hospital staff, along with six therapeutic classes for patients. These therapeutic classes are now also open to external participants. If you as a teacher, or as a student could benefit from therapeutic Iyengar Yoga, you are welcome to attend these classes.

If you are an Iyengar Yoga teacher and are interested in joining the team in Brussels or Ghent, please feel free to contact Anuyoga to discuss training and involvement opportunities. If there is sufficient interest, a new training cycle may be organised in the future.

There are also opportunities for Iyengar Yoga teachers to assist in therapeutic classes at several yoga studios.

The following options are available:

  • Centre de Yoga Iyengar de Bruxelles, once a month with Willy Bok (please contact Willy Bok)
  • The Studio in Audergem, every Monday afternoon with Shai Kaplan (please contact Dorka Gero)
  • Iyengar Yoga Gent, every Friday morning with Shai Kaplan (please contact Eva Kamala Rodenburg)

Teachers interested in assisting and gaining more experience in therapeutic yoga are warmly welcome. Please get in touch soon regarding available places from September onwards.

On our website you will also always find an overview of Iyengar Yoga workshops from different yoga studios, often with guest teachers.

Finally, one last call for support. If you feel inspired to help BIYAB as a volunteer, we would love to hear from you. As announced during the General Assembly, we are still looking for a treasurer. We can also always use administrative or practical support. The minutes of the Annual General Assembly will soon be available on our website.

We warmly thank you for your involvement and look forward to seeing you at future activities and events. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for further news and announcements, including the National Convention in May 2027, which will once again take place in Brussels.

With warm regards,

The BIYAB team
